In her work, Kate is interested in the way folk are thrown into the world, with no choice in the matter, and what they do thereafter.
She has a Scottish Arts Council bursary to complete her novel, Critical Mass. She’s also writing a non-fiction humour book and has had many short stories and poems published (including a story in 100 Stories for Haiti: www.100storiesforhaiti.org).
After gaining an MLitt in Creative Writing from the University of Glasgow,
Kate
lectured in professional writing at the Glasgow College of Nautical
Studies. Now,
whilst completing her novel, she tutors correspondence students of a
Fife-based
college.
In 2009, she was writer-in-residence at the Wigtown Book Festival. Now, whilst completing her novel, she tutors correspondence students of a Fife-based college.
