Gretchen Faust


Gretchen Faust began practicing yoga in 1989 with Carolyn Oberst in New York City and Kum Nye since 2004 with John Peacocke.  Further study at the Jivamukti Yoga Centre and Ashtanga Yoga Nilayam led to her teaching in 1994 in New York.  She then studied with Sri K Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India before settling in Totnes where she opened the Forge Yoga Centre in 1999.  She also holds degrees in fine arts and is qualified in various therapies such as Swedish Massage, Shiatsu, Polarity and Craniosacral Therapy under the aegis of Franklyn Sills of the Karuna Institute.

 

Melanie Thompson

Melanie has been working professionally for the last 25 years in the arena of performing arts. Starting as a dancer in her teens, moving in to working with physical theatre in her twenties, creating her own multimedia performance company in her thirties. She is now based in the visual arts, with the emphasis on performance and installation focusing on site specificity. Melanie has taught movement workshops at Dartington College of Arts, and all over Europe. She recently finished being the artistic director of the Tor Dance Festival and has just completed a year long arts project in collaboration with Wells Palace
